Surface treatment methods and differences of steel grating

Oct 04, 2021

The surface anti-rust treatment of steel gratings can be divided into three methods: hot-dip galvanizing, cold-dip galvanizing and painting. Among them, hot-dip galvanizing and cold-dip galvanizing are more common.

Hot-dip galvanizing is the most expensive and most practical, with the longest service life, and the service life of the hot-dip galvanizing grille is 50 to 60 years. Hot-dip galvanizing has the characteristics of anti-rust and anti-corrosion, long service life and cost saving.

Cold galvanizing is electro-galvanizing. Generally, heating is not required, and the zinc content on the surface is small. It is easy to rust in a humid environment and has poor anti-rust effect. But the price is cheaper than hot-dip galvanizing.

Spray paint is used for the surface treatment of steel grating. The processing cost of spraying is lower than that of hot-dip galvanizing. The anti-rust ability is general, and the wear resistance is strong. However, spray paint can choose various colors. Especially when steel grating is used in machinery and equipment, and the color of the steel grating is consistent with the color of the equipment, we can use spray paint for surface treatment.
