The length of the weld should not be less than 4 times the thickness of the loaded flat steel. In the case that the edge plate does not bear the load, the end plate of the stair tread should be fully welded on one side. Weld the edge plate in the same direction as the load flat bar for each crossbar. Cuts or openings in galvanized steel gratings equal to or greater than 180mm should be wrapped. If stair treads are equipped with leading edge wrap guards, they must pass through all steps.
