Precautions for using hot dip galvanised steel grating

Nov 06, 2024

1. Before operation
Check the equipment:
Before using the hot-dip galvanised steel grating, carefully check whether all parts of the saw machine are intact, including the saw blade, transmission device, protective cover, etc. Make sure that the saw blade is firmly installed without looseness or damage.
Check whether the electrical system is normal, whether the wires are damaged, and whether the plug is secure.
Choose a suitable saw blade:
Choose a suitable saw blade according to the thickness and material of the hot-dip galvanized steel grating. Generally speaking, for thicker steel gratings, saw blades with fewer teeth and larger tooth pitch should be selected to improve cutting efficiency; for thinner steel gratings, saw blades with more teeth and smaller tooth pitch can be selected to ensure cutting accuracy.
Ensure that the quality of the saw blade is reliable and has sufficient hardness and wear resistance.
Be well prepared for protection:
Operators should wear necessary protective equipment, such as safety helmets, protective glasses, earplugs, gloves, etc. Protective glasses can prevent debris generated during cutting from splashing and injuring the eyes; earplugs can reduce noise damage to hearing; gloves can protect hands from injury.
Ensure that the workplace is well ventilated to avoid dust and harmful gases generated by cutting that may cause harm to the human body.

2. During operation
Correctly install the steel grating:
Fix the hot-dip galvanised steel grating firmly to the workbench to ensure that it does not move or shake during the cutting process. The steel grating can be fixed with a clamp or other fixing device.
According to the cutting requirements, adjust the position and angle of the steel grating to ensure that the cutting line is accurate.
Start the saw machine:
According to the operating procedures of the saw machine, start the saw machine correctly. During the startup process, pay attention to the operating status of the saw machine. If there is any abnormality, stop the machine immediately for inspection.
After starting, let the saw machine idle for a while and check whether the saw blade rotates smoothly and whether there is any abnormal noise or vibration.
Control the cutting speed:
When cutting hot-dip galvanized steel grating, the cutting speed should be reasonably controlled according to the thickness and material of the steel grating. Cutting too fast may cause the saw blade to overheat, increase wear, or even damage the saw blade; cutting too slow will reduce work efficiency.
Generally speaking, for thicker steel gratings, a slower cutting speed should be used; for thinner steel gratings, the cutting speed can be appropriately increased.
Maintain stable operation:
During the cutting process, the operator should hold the saw machine handle with both hands and maintain a stable operating posture. Avoid excessive force or sudden changes in the cutting direction to avoid causing the saw blade to get stuck or break.
Push the saw machine at a uniform speed to ensure that the cutting line is straight. If the cutting direction needs to be changed, the machine should be stopped first, and the position of the steel grating should be adjusted before restarting the saw machine for cutting.
Pay attention to the safe distance:
During the cutting process, the operator should maintain a certain safe distance from the saw blade to avoid contact between the body parts and the saw blade. At the same time, pay attention to the safety of the surrounding personnel to prevent others from approaching the running saw machine.
It is strictly forbidden to reach out to clean the debris on the saw blade or adjust the position of the steel grating during the cutting process.

3. After operation
Stop and clean:
After the cutting is completed, stop the machine correctly according to the operating procedures of the saw machine. After turning off the power, wait for the saw blade to stop rotating completely before cleaning.
Clean the steel grating debris and dust on the workbench to keep the workplace clean. You can use brooms, vacuum cleaners and other tools to clean.
Check the saw blade:
Check the wear of the saw blade. If there is severe wear or damage, the saw blade should be replaced in time. At the same time, clean the debris and oil on the saw blade to keep the saw blade clean.
Maintain the equipment:
Perform regular maintenance on the hot dip galvanised grating, including checking the transmission device, lubrication parts, fastening screws, etc. Ensure that the equipment is in good operating condition and extend the service life of the equipment.
According to the instruction manual of the equipment, you can formulate a reasonable maintenance plan and strictly follow the plan for maintenance work.
